LindseyPhotoLindsey Johnston - Goalkeeper. Lindsey comes from Aiskew in Bedale, but is currently studying BTEC in Sport's Performance & Excellence at Grantham College whilst training as part of the Grantham College Waterpolo Academy. She started playing when she was 13, and in the same year was selected for GB Youth. She has travelled to Prague, Portugal and Croatia in her current position as GB Junior goalkeeper. Her sporting hero is Michael Johnson. Lindsey's ambition is to play in the 2012 Olympics, have an injury free waterpolo career and to own a Range Rover Sport!!

AshleyPhotoAshley Jade Chattaway or Chatts for short. From Harrogate, Ashley is currently studying maths with business management at Manchester University. She also works as bookmaker's assistant at most northern racecourses. She started playing for Harrogate U16 in 2004 and has represented North East Counties. She's also won a few show jumping competitions. Her ambition is to make it through uni alive! Ashley loves going out, clubbing and going on holiday. Her favourites things are chocolate, house music, Pirates of the Caribbean and Harry's spaghetti!!

 

KimPhotoKimberly Hills. Based in Sunderland, Kim is currently studying Criminology at Northumbria University. She started playing waterpolo in 2001 with Sunderland and joined Harrogate in the same year. One of her major achievements is travelling around Australia and managing to come home intact!! She'd like to try the same with the rest of the world and see everything humanly possible. Kim loves going out with her friends, sleeping all day, watching DVD's, eating pizza, The Notebook, The Waterboy, The Killers and The Kooks.

SamPhotoSam Crawford. From Sunderland, Sam is studying PE and Sport & Exercise Science at Leeds Met University. After accumulating lots of sporting awards from school, Sam joined Harrogate in 2001. Her sporting heroes are Kelly Holmes and Ian Thorpe. Sam loves shopping (what girl doesn't) and having a good time out with her friends. Her ambitions are to get a job earning lots of money and to go to New York. She loves the movie Dirty Dancing and funky house and dance music.

 

JuliaPhoto Captain Julia Mackay, aka Jules. Resident in Scotland, she is studying Animal Biology at Stirling University. Julia started playing when she was 12 with Dunfermline Waterpolo Club and joined Harrogate in 2005. She has played in the European Junior Championships in 2005 and then achieved further International status when she played for Scotland in the 2006 Commonwealth Games. Julia sporting hero is Alison Shepherd. Her ambition is to run her own zoo. Jules loves her Mum's lasagne, partying with her uni mates, boxercise, the movie 13 Ghosts and 'man-up'.

AnnaPhotoAnna Richardson. From Durham, Anna is at Newcastle College studying Community and Public Services. Her ambition is to join the Police. She started playing for Durham City when she was 12 and joined Harrogate in 2002. Anna has been part of the GB Juniors Squad and has spent time playing and training in Hungary with the Hungarian Ladies Senior National Squad. One of her other achievements was passing her driving theory and test first time. She enjoys going out with her friends, shopping, tuna, the movie Talladega Nights and all types of music.

 

AlisonPhotoAlison Mell. Residing in Durham, she is currently studying Politics, Sociology and History at Framwellgate School. She started playing waterpolo when she was 12, stopped for a bit and then joined Harrogate. She also plays netball and football for her school and the football team have won the County Cup two years in a row. She says her ambition is a real cliche, but she just wants to be happy. Her favourite food is trifle, Alison loves the film American Beauty and likes all music but especially hard core dance. Her sporting hero is Owen Hargreaves.

LindseyPhotoClaire Walmsley, aka Womble, is a student on a Foot Health Practitioners Course and works part time in a supermarket and at a podiatrist's. She started playing when she was 13 in the Coventry junior team and then moved up to the womens team in 2004. She is also a member of the GB Junior Squad. Claire loves reading published classics like 'Love It' and 'Heat' magazines to keep up to date with real life!! Her ambition is to be part of the 2012 Squad. She loves Chinese food, all kinds of music, says Rod Stewart's brill, enjoys comedy films and thinks Borat is ace.

 

FranPhotoFrancesca Clayton, aka Cesca or Fran. Fran is currently a student at Manchester University. She started playing waterpolo after joining Bedale Swimming Club aged 7. Her mum Judi is an ex GB captain and her dad coaches and referees. Fran has played at club, schools, county and district level and joined Harrogate in 2000. Her ambition is to be a member of the 2012 Olympic Squad. Fran loves reading, sleeping, wolves, and her Labrador, Ben. Her favourite things are pizza and cake, Troy the movie and taking penalties.

RachelMPhotoRachel Mell. Rachel's hometown is Durham. She is studying Engineering at Cambridge University. She started playing in 2001 for Durham City and joined Harrogate in 2004. Rachel has abseiled off the Tyne Bridge for charity and also enjoys flying with the University Air Squadron and learning Japanese. Her ambitions are to fly solo, get a degree, own a big house and several good cars. Rachel's favourite's are Paul Gasgoine, steak, mashed potatoes, any music that makes her dance and Harry Potter movies.

 

LauraPhotoLaura Hiscott. Living in Bedford, Laura is a student at the Dame Alice Harpur School. She also works as a Lifeguard and Swimming Teacher at the local pool. Laura started playing waterpolo when she was 12 and is a recent recruit to Harrogate joining in 2006. She has also played County Hockey and Squash. Her other sporting interests are skiing, snowboarding and, like all girls, she’s born to shop. Laura loves peas, Goo Goo Dolls, Dirty Dancing and Dodgeball. Her ambition is to go to university, get a good job and marry Joe Cole!

SarahPhotoSarah Drabble. Born in South Africa and now based in Chesterfield, Sarah works as a Lifeguard and Swimming Teacher at the local pool, aswell as coaching a mini polo session. After playing in South Africa, she arrived in the UK in August 1999 and joined Doncaster Junior Waterpolo Squad. She joined Harrogate in 2002 and has played for the North East Counties. Sarah has a number of medals from National Speed Lifesaving Championships and also plays football. She loves jewellery making, crafts, sewing and the cinema. Her favourites things are Chinese food, rock music, R&B, Shawshank Redemption, and sneaking up and stealing the ball.
